Hate to break it to you, love

Well, so tonights the night we've all been waiting for (well me anyway). Halloween, this is what the theme of this blog has been for a month now...and I hate to break it to youse... Im going completly off the record and post something that's not scary whatsoever.
Maybe it's because I am just an angry little mop who's bitter because I probably don't even have the time to go out tonight because of college work, maybe I'm the halloween Scrouge?

This is from a series of different barbies I've made for a project. This is a russian doll painted as a barbie.

Anyways, humbug...

The Creature from the Black Laggon

Aloha monsters!
This is me own little take on the oldy creature from the blackest of black lagoons! I love this guy, easily my fave movie monster without a doubt, I'd say Ive drawn him in at least one project every year in college, in layout, computer animation and now in illustration, I can never get enough, hes one of the all time best! I'd love to see a serious remake it would blow my mind machine! I drew this exclusively for the blog, enjoy!

Monday Mindache approaches you cautiously

Rattling it

This is an old piece, folks.

A shadowgram that was done last term due to a quite healthy obsession with rats and mice.

Bear in mind no mice were injured in the process, they were already dead.

Quote The Simpsons, Nevermore.........

As the title says, I don't think a day has gone by in the last 15 years where I haven't quoted The Simpsons at least once - and it also is a clever quip on the title of on of my favourite episodes - a take on Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven. Finally got the horrory muscles in tune :).

Hope ya like it!

Jazz Man/ROBOTS!

Realised I had this lying around so seeing as I missed posting last week here's this. Seeing as I'm editing today's post hopefully this won't interfere with whoever is posting Friday.
It's for the Icon project in class (I chose robots), unfortunately because it looks like everything else I draw I think I'll have to pick something else for the brief.

Still nothing new posted here. I promise to get my shit together soon.

Anyway this was a quick sketch I did during the Summer using acrylics for a character I thought about briefly before getting sidetracked by something else.

On the subject of brass instruments I recommend checking out the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. They put on an incredible show and arevplaying around the country over the next week or so, this Saturday night in the Button factory I believe.

Franky's dirty little secret

Monday Mindache is worse late than never

i was looking back through some o' my old stuff from a time before intelligent machines and temporal acceleration. when i had no computer , time passed slower and i shaded with pencil. those days are gone. but now my modern, government approved intelligent machine can time travel (i got an update). so here's another un-new piece, newed with binary sorcery. be enjoying! now!!!

Fantastically funky Fridays with Ciaran Doyle

Not very "horror-y" but my horror muscles weren't in tune this week so this is a bit of an oldie, I think I started it as a try at perspective but once again my comicy influences just seemed to ooze onto the page somehow. What emerged was a Spawn and the Clown doodle - this is especially dedicated to Luke and Kev since they both love Todd MacFarlane so much!

Kevin "Aloha" Mc Namara Tuesdays

Aloha folks!

As Geoff said and certainly set a high standard of horror, it is Horror time until the first of November here at the Freaky Picnic!

So ladies and gentlemen get in gear for a ghoulish last ride to hell and marvel at the horrors and fiend that will grace the haunted corridors of...em...this blog and stuff...whatever...

This piece was just an exercise in class in using different materials nothing too fancy just water saleable crayons, pencils and a candle it was ok, I was stuck for something to draw so I threw up this! I mean threw this together, whatever I guess it’s all the same!

As usual not the greatest sense of colour but how and ever here you go, it’s the very talented Lon Chaney, Jr. as the Wolf Man in 1941, all round good stuff check it out!

Monday Mindache oozing out of Geoff's head

i have something fresh, shiny 'n' exclusive for you this week! and early, i'm on the ball now!

kevin contacted me with a proposal for a theme in the run up to halloween. a HORRRORRR theme! this appeals to me, so i accepted. i hope you all have a place in your hearts for HORROR!, TERROR! and EMOTIONAL TRAUMA!, i know i do. so happy all hallows e'en! unclewon'tfancymeificutmyface! wooooooo ghosts!

for a change i thought i'd try some photo manipulation, exploitation and violation. all faces featured are my facial features, malformed 'n' deformed with photoshop.

BOO-oh! i scared myself there, whew.

For this week, I wanted to start a simple pencil image, upload it and start painting it for next week. To be honest, this one is a bit small, so I'll make a bigger one instead.

Sylvia's cat

"If it wasn't for the silly hat, Sylvia's cat wouldn't have hated rain so much"

That's just gobbledegook, everyone knows cats hates water. Anyhow, simple as I am I decided to leave it with just a beloved pen and tiny bit of watercolor. Modern life takes one step backwards.

Fantastically funky Fridays with Ciaran Doyle

Okay so this didn't turn out exactly how I wanted with the colours and whatnot but its my version of a bloodied up and not too happy Jigsaw from Punisher. Again, created with fine liners, felt tip marker and coloured in photoshop.

Hope ya'll enjoy :)

vietnam guns a blazing

a scene i thought would happen in the Vietnam war.

this was done in sketch book pro, i like the way sketch book emulates pencil. its really nice i find it saves time . its nice to use to because oit takes out the scanning and clean up of paper.

oh yeah this is an old picture well old as in it wasn't done today, i shall have a coloured version for next weeks Wednesday

mark out!

Monday Mindache in Geoff's head

well halloooo!

week 1 declared successful and creepy and fun. commencing week 2!

this week's post is sponsored by different whiskeys and inner turmoil.

he is Pinocchio. he is for my "Tragic Kingdom" series, a collection of drawn things what i did, my versions of classic Disney characters. there's more of them on my deviantart if you wanna go have a little quick look there 'n' stuff, go on.

i'm losing abilities so i need go to... my... ah... sleee... py.

b'bye! kisses!

Hey, Luke here!
Well, last but probably least, we have my very first entry and the last one for the week.
As you can see, it has a very unfinished look to it, and it almost didn't happen at all thanks to an awful case of artist's block (I have a bunch of crappy Deadpool drawings I was trying to do).

Like much of what I draw, it's almost entirely inspired by a steady diet of heavy metal, Coka-Cola, and influenced by some of my favourite comic-book artists, namely Bisley, Skottie Young and more recently (but not noticeably, I think), Frazetta. Obviously I was restricted to simple media such as pencil and felt pen, owing mostly to my inability to colour or use photoshop. Something that really stands out is the terrible hatching which does not really work as well as I'd hoped it would. Or even at all. Oh well, maybe next time. Bye then.

Super Surplus Saturdays with Emma Petersson

well hello there..

This is the ladyee and bloody foreigner that has ended up as yer Saturday treat.

I have not managed to digitalise myself yet so todays picture was made with ink, pen, colour pencil, conte and love.

It was also brought with a stress of me forgetting my bank code and having a small, yet sweet panic attack in front of the cheap internet cafe's 90's computers. Modern Technology huh.. when will one learn?

Fantastically funky Fridays with Ciaran Doyle

A big howdy to one and all,

I hope everyone's enjoying the first posts as much as I am and congrats to all the lads so far.

My Joker in a straight jacket was created using fine liners and a felt tip marker then coloured in photoshop. Hope ya'll enjoy and be gentle, I'm a blogging virgin :)
